WERUVA founders Stacie and David Forman were inspired by their three rescued cats, Webster, Rudi, and Vanessa, to create a cat food that they would feel comfortable feeding to their own pets. WERUVA uses base proteins of chicken, beef, and fish and includes only top-quality meat. Add fresh vegetables and other unique ingredients like tilapia and calamari and you end up with a meal that is perfect for your pet. WERUVA pet foods are low-carb and low-fat with a low-ash content. And the proteins used in their products are always fit for human consumption.

Here’s what else we love about their ingredients:
Chicken
WERUVA uses only boneless and skinless white breast meat in their chicken products.
Fish
WERUVA’s fish meat is hand-flaked off the bone. They use Skipjack Tuna, which is line-caught smaller tuna that are lower in mercury than other tuna.
Pumpkin
WERUVA uses pumpkin in some of their foods. Pumpkin is rich in insoluble and soluble fiber, making it great for digestion. It’s higher in moisture, lower in carbs, and lower in starch than potatoes.
Other Meats
WERUVA also uses butchered cuts of meat in their foods that have been deboned and trimmed of extra fat.
In addition to food and treats, WERUVA also makes cat litter comprised of Hinoki Wood (Japanese Cypress) and Green Tea. Humidity-resistant Hinoki Wood and Green Tea team together to naturally control the growth of bacteria and mold to keep litter box odor in check.
