What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Well, not really when The Pet Beastro visits the entertainment capital of the world to attend SuperZoo 2022, and we have loads to share!

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Well, not really when The Pet Beastro visits the entertainment capital of the world, and we have loads to share! Myself, Louis, and Jennifer trekked out to hot and sunny Las Vegas to take on two trade shows in the same week. We searched high and low for all the great products to bring back to our retail store. These are items that we don't want to keep top secret as we want to share all the fun with you and your furry best friends.

ASD Market Week

The first trade show, called ASD Market Week, was more of a general merchandise show where we had a list of human gifts to find. Yes, you read that right, gifts for the pet parents! There were aisles and aisles among several buildings. The two parts of the convention center were so far apart that we took the Tesla Tunnel to get us from one location to the other. The Tesla Tunnel is a newer Las Vegas feature with underground connections between the convention center and hotels. Overall, we found some great items that have already been ordered and should arrive at our store over the next 14 days. You will start seeing new items, including sweatshirts, hoodies, stickers, cosmetic bags, wool coin purses, socks, and more! 

SuperZoo Pet Show

Just when we thought we couldn't walk anymore, SuperZoo started! We went with a purpose. We had questions for manufacturers, we had daily deals to find (if you know, you know!), we had meetings with our favorite reps, we walked the new product showcase, we had a list from the staff, and we connected with industry friends who have stores all over the United States, and we walked some more! What I was most pleasantly surprised with this year is that the amount of new and fresh ideas, product launches, and new companies that attended seemed more abundant than in previous years. The trade show was alive and bustling with folks from all over the country, which was great to see, especially after these past few years of uncertainty. This year had over 1,000 exhibitors with 300,000 square feet of floor show space to navigate.

Louis' Show Recap

Louis mentioned that his first impression was that the show floor was way busier than the previous years. He said he enjoyed fully immersing himself in the show and focusing on finding items for The Pet Beastro pet parents. The most important part of attending the show to Louis includes seeing the new products in person, talking to vendors face-to-face (some companies we only see at shows), and being able to bring in new products that our staff has requested. Think of it as just a giant scavenger hunt.

Louis said his top find at this year's show included a new re-launch of one of our favorite cat toys that have been out of the market for several years. These new wand cat toys with life-like bugs will return to our store soon and complement the cute toys we already have.

Jennifer's Show Recap

Jennifer's first impression of the show was that it was way busier than last year. She mentioned it was exciting to see familiar faces and brands and meet many new manufacturers showcased. Finding new and different products is always a goal, but this year it seemed they showed up in a big way.

Jennifer enjoyed the new product showcase the most. She mentioned that this is a quick glimpse and overview of the show floor. You can quickly see new products, line extensions, and brand-new companies that get you excited about visiting their booth and finding out more information. I'm excited to hear feedback from our customers on the new products we are bringing into The Pet Beastro. 

Jennifer thinks attending trade shows is an essential part of her job as an inventory manager. It gives her the chance to talk directly with manufacturers, continue building strong relationships, and allow us to provide the best products to our customers. 

Jennifer's top find at SuperZoo 2022 was a new cleaning product called Sprinkle & Sweep, which is a powdered product made from volcanic ash and carbon from coconuts. Simply sprinkle on the pet accident and volcanic ash absorbs the mess while the carbon neutralizes the odor and you simply sweep the ash up with a broom and dustpan with no mess left behind! No more paper towels or trying to plug your nose to avoid those stinky messes! Plus the natural ingredients make it completely safe to be around your fur babies! I know this will become a staple in my house!
