What We Love About Savage Raw Cat Food

There are two textures to choose from. They have a smooth and finely ground food and then another that is coarsely ground and chunky. The smoother texture comes in tubs that are nicely packaged and don’t leak. We also love that they put tick marks on the side with ounces to help you feed a more appropriate amount of food per feeding. You can choose from:

The more coarsely ground food comes in a box style with 3 oz portioned packaged. This is to help minimize fridge time and to reduce thaw time. The meat in these packaged portions is cubed or diced to support oral health with your kitties. You can choose from the same great flavors:

More About Savage Cat Food

Savage Cat Food is a very small company operating out of California, family-owned by Audrey and Mat Brady. Audrey and her husband Mat, started this company after their cat survived a coyote attack. They both have a background in agriculture and were looking into starting a coffee farm in Ecuador when Mr. Kitty was attacked and changed their path. At the time Audrey admits to feeding him grain-free kibble thinking that was a really healthy food option, but as soon as she got that vet bill from the attack, she started researching cat health and nutrition. When raw feeding popped up in her search, she thought, "Hmmm, if I don't know about raw feeding a lot of other cat owners don't know about this either." That spark led to a more natural, instinctual cat diet back in 2014. By 2015, they started selling Savage Cat Food to a smaller market in California. From there they took some time to expand to other states to make sure their farm sources could keep up with their supply needs to continue to make their great formulas. In addition, they are really proud that their rabbit farmers are all mom & pop operations within the USA, and cat parents appreciate their transparency on sourcing as well as the continued support of Savage Cat Food. Nothing makes Audrey and Mat more proud than being able to have local farmers have the capacity to grow with their company. As Savage Cat grew, they moved into their own facility in Southern California. They feel that at the end of the day they are really proud to continue to make the same great food from their 2014 spark and continue to make this food for their own cats as well as cats all over the country. Audrey says, “It still blows my mind that a bunch of other cats are enjoying it and living their best lives.”
