What does the red clover plant look like?
The red clover is easily identified by its reddish-pink globe-like flower, hairy stems, and unique “V” mark coloring on the three-lobed leaves. It has a taproot, unlike other clovers with a creeping root system. It is also very easy to grow and offers the soil much-needed amendments, which is great at breaking up heavy, rich clay soils. This plant should not be used by those with bleeding because it has some blood-thinning qualities. We often suggest red clover for cats and dogs who have been diagnosed with cancer or liver ailments.
Red clover is most known for these healing properties:
- Blood cleansing
- Anticancer
- Ability to stimulate the liver and gallbladder
- Diuretic
- Expectorant
Red clover can help:
- Asthma
- Bronchitis
- Spasmodic coughs
- Athlete’s Foot

- Ulcers
Nutritional properties of red clover include:
- Protein
- Magnesium
- Calcium
