There are a ton of pet products out on the market and no store could ever hold them all. We pride ourselves in only choosing the highest quality products and food.
There are a ton of pet products out on the market and no store could ever hold them all. We pride ourselves in only choosing the highest quality products and food.
How do we choose?
- We talk with a company and hearing their background history along with their philosophy on how they believe they succeeded at a great pet item.
- We often hear of recommendations from our very own pet-loving customers.
- We visit vendor shows, pet and non-pet, to find out what is up and coming in the holistic and organic world. If we see a product and the representative doesn't have very much information we will often use my kinesiology skills and muscle test the product against my own animals. In order for it to pass that test, it must give me a strong response for all of my animals for me to consider the product worthwhile for The Pet Beastro.
- Many times we just simply read the ingredient panels. They can give us a good indication of whether or not a product would fill the our criteria.
- When traveling, we also like to see what other pet stores carry from different regions of the United States to see if we are missing something special.
Some products that we choose are successful and some are not. We know there are plenty of great products on the market and we either haven’t been exposed to them yet or we simply don’t have the room. All of the products that we bring in, we have learned about the company’s background and asked questions such as:
- Why they developed a certain formula?
- For which diet do you think it compliments best?
- What quality control implements do you have in place?
- Where are the ingredients sourced?
- Are they organic?
- And how do you see it fitting in a store like ours?
Here at The Pet Beastro, we strive to educate our customers on each excellent food choice we may have for their pet. We avoid any large manufacturers because we don’t feel like the main goal of conglomerates is the health, wellness and longevity of your pet but rather their pocketbooks. We also feel that some of these companies spend more money on their marketing campaigns rather than refocusing that energy into making a really awesome product but the product is mediocre at best.
If you think you know of a product that might fit our requirements and store lineup, please feel free to comment and let us know about it and we will look into it.
