Can Cats & Dogs Eat Turkey and Cranberry?

Don’t forget to include your pets in this year's Thanksgiving dinner. We have loads of safe and healthy turkey options for your cats and dogs. While we don’t recommend the turkey off the dinner table that the humans are eating, we have a great selection of edible options. Check them out on our blog.

It’s November and we are all getting ready for an interesting 2020 Thanksgiving dinner brought to you by CoVID. From what customers and friends have mentioned, it sounds like there are many families that are keeping this year's dinner simple and only having a small family gathering. Don’t forget to include your pets in this year's dinner. We have loads of safe and healthy turkey options for your cats and dogs. While we don’t recommend the turkey off the dinner table that the humans are eating, we have a great selection of edible options.

Dogs & Cats Can Gobble Up Turkey (the raw truth)!

Turkey is a great alternative to chicken or duck. What I love about turkey is that there are many parts that are edible and healthy for your pets, not just the muscle meat. Cats and dogs also love turkey organ meat! With that being said, we have turkey organs that are available in different sizes and varieties. We have whole frozen turkey hearts, ground turkey organs (hearts, liver, gizzards), freeze-dried options include hearts, gizzards, liver, and breast meat. We also have whole or ground turkey necks that come either frozen or freeze-dried. These are great for chewing and incorporating raw meaty bones into your pet's raw diet. If you are looking for a complete turkey diet to feed your pet, we have those options available as well. You could find a complete turkey diet in the freezer, the freeze-dried section, canned options, and even dry food with or without grains. If you are looking for a quick topper look no further than turkey bone broth! Turkey bone broth is a great way to add hydration, support the joints, boost the immune system, aid in liver detox, and provide naturally occurring vitamins and minerals. Turkey broth is easily digestible while supporting the digestive system.

Turkey offers:

  • amino acids,
  • minerals, and
  • vitamins. Some of those noteworthy from the nutritional analysis are vitamin B6 and B12, niacin, choline, iron, selenium, zinc, and tryptophan.

A Healthy Side of Cranberries For Your Cat & Dog!

To go along with the turkey dinner, we all love us some cranberries! Cranberries are well-known as a holiday side dish and nourishing for their antioxidant properties.

Cranberries are known to have trace minerals such as:

  • Manganese,
  • Copper,
  • vitamins C, E, K1,
  • and fiber.

Cranberries are safe to give to both our cats and dogs. We can find cranberries in treats, goat milk options, and supplements that are known to support the urinary system.

Antioxidants are known to slow the aging process. Antioxidants in layman's terms help with disposing of cellular waste from cells making energy. The less cellular waste that is in the body the less of a chance for the cells internally to get damaged. It helps with everyday internal health and cleansing of the cells to reduce chronic diseases. Another good reason for a spoonful of cranberries this holiday season!

Don’t forget we have fantastic Thanksgiving Feasts available for both cats and dogs. Must pre-order by 11/22.

We hope you and your furry family members have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

My pups and kitties loved their primal frozen turkey raw toppers for their Thanksgiving meal. They all gobbled them down and are enjoying the pumpkin spice goats milk. The kitties are going wild with the goats milk and we know that it is so much healthier than giving them regular milk and turkey.
