Bandanas For A Cause
International Bandana Day is October 25 and National Pet Cancer Awareness Month is November so, to help spread the word and celebrate, we at The Pet Beastro are giving away FREE bandanas with every purchase. Yes, you read that correctly, all customers will get a FREE bandana with purchase on October 25th (one per household, while supplies last).
You may be wondering how International Bandana Day and National Pet Cancer Awareness Month are connected. It is suggested that it began with a group of youths in Australia in an organization called CanTeen. This organization hosts an annual Bandana Day in support of young people living with cancer. Sadly, along with humans, animals get cancer as well. November is National Pet Cancer Awareness Month and since it is so close to November, we decided that we would show our support a little early.
National Pet Cancer Awareness Month was started in 2005 to increase awareness in helping to combat the leading killer in pets. Like cancer in humans, pet cancers increase year over year. However, advances are being made for early detection and treatment, giving pet lovers more hope and many options to fight the disease. Cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death for domestic dogs and cats in the U.S. Bandana Day is about supporting cancer. The most obvious way to celebrate is to wear a bandana. So come on in and get your pet a bandana and show your support.
