Herbsmith was founded by Chris Bessent, D.V.M. In her holistic veterinary practice, Dr. Bessent utilizes Chinese herbs, acupuncture, food therapy, and chiropractics on all animals. After more than a decade of using Chinese herbal combinations in her practice, Dr. Bessent took that knowledge and experience and created a company that mirrored her belief in their effectiveness.
In addition to her responsibilities with Herbsmith, Dr. Bessent maintains her busy practice in Southeastern Wisconsin where she treats horses and dogs on a daily basis. She also teaches the benefits and wisdom of Chinese veterinary medicine through seminars, classes, and internships for veterinary students, veterinarians, and horse and dog owners.
We were honored to have Dr. Bessent with us this fall for our Vendor Expo and for a special workshop where she shared her knowledge on Traditional Chinese Medicine with a very interested and invested audience. We will be featuring Herbsmith for this weekend's Sample Saturday from 12 - 3 p.m. If you haven't considered supplements before, or don't know where to start, it's a great time to see how they can help your pet.
